"MEAL OF LOVE" PROGRAM: A JOURNEY OF LOVE AND HOPE AT THE CITY CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
Amidst the countless hardships and challenges of battling illness, empathy and sharing serve as an invaluable spiritual medicine. Driven by the aspiration to spread human warmth to less fortunate lives, on April 23, 2026, an emotional journey titled the "Meal of Love" rolled forward, carrying love and care directly to young patients at the City Children's Hospital.
The Collaboration of Golden Hearts
The program was the result of a close and dedicated collaboration among three organizations: the Warm with Love Charity Club, Saigon Manufacturing and Trading Corporation Company (SMC), and Hung Vuong University HCMC (DHV).
This was not merely a simple charity activity, but also a testament to the social responsibility and the spirit of "the sound leaves protect tattered leaves" shared by business communities and educational institutions. The convergence of youthful energy from DHV students, resources from SMC Concrete, and the organizational experience of the Warm with Love Charity Club created a complete, meticulous, and deeply meaningful program.
Spreading Love Through Nutritious Meals
For young patients undergoing treatment in specialized departments, every passing day is a battle. Understanding the hardships that the children and their families are facing, the charity delegation put a lot of effort into preparing and directly handing out 300 nutritious meals.
The meals were carefully prepared from ingredient selection to cooking, ensuring food safety and hygiene while meeting the health needs of the children at:
Department of Nephrology - Endocrinology: Where the children are resiliently undergoing long-term treatment regimens.
Department of Clinical Hematology: Where every smile from the children is a miracle.
Department of Oncology - Radiotherapy - Nuclear Medicine: Where these "little warriors" are fighting every day to cling to life.
Seeing the sparkling eyes of joy and the shy smiles of the children as they received the piping-hot meals, all the fatigue felt by the members of the delegation simply melted away. For the families, these meals provided not only practical material support—easing a portion of their living expenses at the hospital—but also served as a tremendous source of emotional comfort, helping them feel that they are not alone on the journey of caring for their sick children.
Spreading Noble Human Values
A representative of the charity delegation shared: "We hope that these gifts, though modest in material value yet filled with sincere affection, will serve as a source of encouragement, giving the children extra strength to overcome the pain of illness. Seeing the optimistic spirit of the children and their families, we ourselves have learned a profound lesson in resilience."
The "Meal of Love" program concluded in a warm atmosphere of sharing, but its echoes will surely linger on. These acts of kindness not only bring immediate joy but also contribute to building a compassionate community where human warmth is always prioritized.
